2P-AL2024-1000-2 COASTAL SHAFT COLLARS Clamping Collar Pack

Introducing the Coastal Shaft Collars 2P-AL2024-1000-2, a high-quality and reliable solution for securing and positioning shafts in various industrial applications. These collars come as a pack of two, each featuring a clamping collar made of Aluminum Alloy 2024 with a thickness of 1.00 inch.

The Aluminum Alloy 2024 material is renowned for its superior strength, lightweight, and excellent corrosion resistance. It ensures the collars can withstand the rigors of coastal environments and other harsh conditions, extending their service life.

Measuring 2 inches in diameter, these collars are well-suited for medium-sized shafts. They are designed to fit shafts with a nominal size of 1 inch (25.4mm) and are suitable for both parallel and facing shaft arrangements.

The collars' clamping mechanism consists of a threaded collar and a locknut, allowing for easy installation and adjustment. The locknut secures the collar in place once the desired clamping force is achieved. These collars can accommodate a maximum clamping force of 2,000 lbs (8,896 N), making them suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.

The collars are finished with an anodized coating, providing an attractive, durable, and corrosion-resistant surface. The anodizing process creates a hard, porous layer that enhances the aluminum alloy's natural resistance to corrosion and wear.

In summary, the Coastal Shaft Collars 2P-AL2024-1000-2 are a reliable and durable choice for securing and positioning shafts in various industrial applications. Their high-quality Aluminum Alloy 2024 construction, corrosion resistance, and adjustable clamping mechanism make them an excellent investment for your industrial projects.

Coastal shaft collars, specifically model 2P-AL2024-1000-2 1.00 clamping collars 2024 pack, are used to secure the connection between two shafts or a shaft and a machine component. These collars are made of aluminum alloy (2024) and offer several advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

1. Lightweight: Aluminum alloy is lighter than steel, which can reduce the overall weight of the system and lead to cost savings in transportation and installation.

2. Corrosion resistance: The aluminum alloy used in these collars is resistant to corrosion, making them suitable for use in harsh environments. This can extend the life of the collars and reduce maintenance costs.

3. Easy to install: These collars are relatively easy to install due to their lightweight and compact design. They can be tightened using hand tools, and do not require special equipment or techniques.

Disadvantages:

1. Lower load capacity: Aluminum alloy has a lower load capacity than steel, which means that these collars may not be suitable for applications where high torque or heavy loads are involved.

2. Lower strength: Compared to steel collars, aluminum alloy collars have lower strength, which can limit their use in certain applications where high clamping force is required.

3. Cost: While the initial cost of aluminum alloy collars may be lower than steel collars, the cost difference may be offset by the need for more collars to achieve the same clamping force.

Conclusion:

Coastal shaft collars, model 2P-AL2024-1000-2 1.00 clamping collars 2024 pack, offer several advantages such as lightweight, corrosion resistance, and easy installation. However, they also have some disadvantages including lower load capacity, lower strength, and potentially higher cost in certain applications.

Recommendation:

If your application requires high torque or heavy loads, or if you need a high clamping force, then steel collars may be a better choice. However, if your application is in a harsh environment, or if weight savings is a priority, then aluminum alloy collars may be a good option. Ultimately, the decision should be based on the specific requirements of your application and the trade-offs between cost, weight, and performance.

Details:

Compared to set screw Collars, the two-piece design has significantly higher clamping force and will not mar Shaft/pipe. Made from 2024 aluminum, these Shaft Collars are lightweight and have good corrosion resistance, the two-piece design makes installation simple. This pack includes 2 split Collars and their corresponding screws. Made in the USA by Coastal machine works.

I set out to make Collars onshore using high-quality stainless steel and spending the extra time sure I m delivering a first-rate product. My hope is that you enjoy the fit and finish of my Collars as much I making them. Finally, every collar is rinsed, washed and dried to remove any oil residue from the machining process. Every edge and hole is debarred to reduce/eliminate the risk of cuts.

Every collar has its edges and holes debarred corresponding inside diameter bore engraved on front face for easy identification. The country of origin and bore size is engraved to make identification easy. The quality of the foreign Collars we were using always seemed to be subpar and price was high for what getting. These two-piece aluminum split Shaft Collars have an inside diameter of 1.00 inches, outside 1.75 inches and a thickness 0.50.

Strong, even clamping pressure around the Shaft is created using two included 1/4 -28 x 5/8 black-oxide alloy steel socket head screws. The split collar can be disassembled and reassembled anywhere along the Shaft without needing to remove other components or having access ends of.
